As a mobile Physical Therapist, we provide most the equipment. We have a treatment/massage table, massage tools, manual therapy tools, and exercise equipment that is transportable such as foam mats, small dumbbells, wobble board, cones, sliders, therabands, gait belts, BOSU ball, swiss ball, etc. We are also able to incorporate any equipment you may have at home into the treatment sessions or your home program.

During your first session, the Physical Therapist will review the patient information forms that you have filled out and ask any follow up questions that may be needed. Once that is completed, the PT will do a full evaluation focusing on the injured area(s) and surrounding body parts. An explanation of their findings and treatment procedures will be communicated and discussed with you and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Once the treatment plan is agreed upon by you and the therapist, the treatment portion of the session will begin.

The sessions are usually 60 minutes. They may consist of manual therapy, range of motion activities, strengthening exercises, balance exercises, plyometric exercises, or any other treatment procedure the therapist deems appropriate and agreed upon by you. Physical Therapy sessions are usually 2-3x/week. Wellness sessions are usually 1-2x/week.

You should wear clothes that are easy to move in and will provide the therapist easy access to the treatment areas without disrobing.

No, you do not need to clean your entire house, but you do need to clear a space large enough for a massage table and to move around for exercises. Dog and cat hair are fully acceptable in the treatment areas. :-)

Physical Therapy 2U is currently contracted with Medicare and is considered an out of network provider for all other commercial insurance plans.

As a courtesy, Physical Therapy 2U can submit a claim to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement or can provide you with an electronic invoice/statement for you to submit with a claim form directly to your insurance.

No, you do not need to have a prescription to start physical therapy. Physical Therapists in California have Direct Access. This means that if you have a condition requiring physical therapy, you can be treated for 12 visits or 45 days, which ever comes first, before you need to see your medical doctor. If you require PT after that time for your condition, you will need to get a prescription.

Medicare patients are required to have prescription for physical therapy before treatment begins.

After all your sessions are completed, your Physical Therapist will make sure that you have a comprehensive home exercise program to continue with the final stages of your rehabilitation independently.

Or, if you prefer to continue with your therapist, you can transition to a wellness program. The goals and program details will be discussed before transitioning.
